Changelog

Every change that ships to Vismo, big and small.

Board transfers, file search, and survey reports link

You can now move or copy a board into another project. The transfer dialog shows which files will be copied across, so nothing is left behind by accident.

The file explorer searches as you type. Start a term with # to match tags only, so you can jump straight to tagged files.

  • Import raw DWG and DXF drawings straight into a board from the file browser.

  • Add multiple links to a single presentation button and choose how each one opens.
  • New board controls: folders to organise layers, an updated toolbar, and keyboard shortcuts.
  • Share links now work consistently across boards, files, projects, and presentations.

  • Clearer feedback when a request would exceed your plan's limit, so you know why it stopped and what to do next.
  • Clearer messaging on the password-reset screen.
  • Continued security hardening around sign-in and session handling.

Ideas and Announcements return link

  • The Ideas and Announcements panels are available again in the portal.

Lead capture, point-cloud measurement, and video previews link

For eligible organisations, admins have a new leads dashboard: enquiries raised on your projects are collected in one place, with notifications routed to an email address you configure.

  • Convert E57 scans to LAZ point clouds, and measure directly on the converted clouds.
  • Fixes to CAD line styling so drawings reload correctly.
  • 2D CAD outputs open in the flat viewer and show honest processing state.

  • MOV video files play inline, with a download fallback where a browser can't play them.
  • Continued security hardening across the platform.

A 3D viewer overhaul and per-output file downloads link

A large batch of viewer improvements landed together:

  • Select individual child objects in an IFC model and see their details in the info panel, with space entities hidden by default.
  • Lighting presets, sensible near/far clipping planes, and a fix for flickering surfaces on overlapping geometry.
  • An orbit-point indicator that scales with zoom and stays visible on very large models.
  • Configure how point clouds display, including point size and colour mode.

  • Viewers now unlock only when a file's outputs genuinely exist, with clear per-file processing status.
  • Every output a file produces (2D previews and 3D models) is listed individually, each with its own view and download, and a label showing the conversion type.
  • Thumbnails appear across file listings.
  • Add hashtag tags to files and folders, with organisation-wide suggestions.
  • Pin close-up images onto a parent image.
  • Separate "Upload Files" and "Upload Folders" buttons.
  • Grant or revoke folder access in bulk for a limited-access user, with a clear per-user summary.

  • An aerial batch placement wizard, with board enhancements.

  • New line-drawing and highlighter tools for organisations with Presentations enabled.

  • Organisations can prove they own a domain, and members can request to join.
  • Organisation-listed team-based projects appear as locked, requestable cards.

  • Sort projects by date, grouped by month and year.
  • Fixed a sign-in refresh loop affecting Firefox.

We carried out a broad programme of security hardening across the platform.

IFC viewer upgrade, keyboard navigation, and organisation entry link

  • The IFC engine was upgraded to a new version, with model selection fixes on top.
  • Fly around models with arrow-key and WASD navigation, including in-place rotation and adjustable sensitivity.
  • Selection-box padding, occlusion and axis-alignment fixes, and the transform gizmo now re-syncs correctly after undo/redo.

A new organisation entry flow helps you join the right organisation through existing invitations and matching organisation email domains. Shared and team-based projects are easier to discover and request access to.

For organisations with Presentations enabled:

  • Reusable, organisation-scoped presentation templates.
  • IFC overlays on slides.
  • An eyedropper colour picker.
  • Navigation thumbnails for files and boards.

  • All in-app maps now default to satellite view.
  • Bug reports can include image attachments, and you can paste images straight into comments; attachments pin as a permanent footer.

Per-project features, richer presentations, and email previews link

Invited collaborators now land directly in the project they were invited to. Where available, you can also ask for a survey of a site through a "Request a survey" button and form, complete with a map location and boundary.

A new Features tab in Project Settings lets you control which available tools appear for each project.

  • Seed a new board with a snapshot of the project map's pins, centrelines, boundaries and labels, or tie a board to a known location.

For organisations with Presentations enabled:

  • New shape drawing tools.
  • Copy and paste elements between slides.
  • SVG images are now supported.
  • Link a slide to a specific PDF page.
  • More reliable inline text links, plus search and pagination in the file picker.

A new "Report a bug" option in the Help menu captures your description and technical context and sends it straight to our team. The Help menu was also streamlined into a clearer hub.

Uploaded .eml and .msg email files now render as formatted previews, with headers, body and attachment list, instead of raw text.

  • Project viewers can be upgraded to full membership in one click.
  • Group "My Projects" by organisation.
  • Renaming or creating a file or folder now saves when you click away, instead of discarding your change.
  • Member search now matches anywhere in a name, not just the start.
  • A project location link opens the in-app map, and a fix restored double-click-to-open in the file explorer.

A Free plan, and hide the projects you don't need link

A Free plan is now available to anyone without a paid subscription, with clear project and storage limits and a friendlier billing page.

Hide projects you don't need from your listing, and reveal them again whenever you want.

  • Manage project groups and reusable folder templates from Organisation settings, with a redesigned template picker.
  • Upload a project cover image with a crop-and-zoom dialog to frame it just right.
  • Open map pin images as a full-screen overlay, with a smoother pin image viewer.
  • A more compact Project Files header with a collapsible folder tree.
  • Removed a duplicated "Hide" entry from the project card menu, plus dark-mode fixes for template chips and settings padding.

A reimagined file explorer, redesigned settings, and floor plans from point clouds link

  • A Google Drive-style preview panel shows images, PDFs, videos and CAD outputs inline, and PDFs auto-open their preview when selected.
  • Switch between table, list and thumbnail layouts, with a configurable page size.
  • Uploads preserve folder structure across browsers, with separate file and folder uploads and automatic extraction of zipped folders.
  • A post-upload report confirms what succeeded, "Select all" spans every page, TIF/TIFF images now preview, and map pins can show an inline file preview.

Project, Organisation and Account settings were rebuilt as clean, tabbed layouts, with independent save actions and an unsaved-changes guard. Organisation people (members, invitations and join requests) were consolidated into a single tabbed view.

Generate a 2D floor plan directly from point-cloud scans and place it on the project map.

  • A guided wizard for creating boards.

For organisations with Presentations enabled:

  • A colour-match tool for button and title colours.
  • Configurable borders on image elements, plus link and viewer behaviour fixes.

  • Per-file processing status indicators.
  • A richer map preview drawer.
  • A fix for email autocomplete on the invite page.

Project access controls, IFC floor plans, and new file viewers link

Every project now has a visibility setting: Private, Auto-Join, Request to Join, or Team-Based. Organisations can share projects without hand-managing every permission. Members see the projects they can reach, can request access to restricted ones, and admins are notified of requests in the bell icon. Teams can be created and bound to projects with per-team roles, and admins can restrict downloads on shared projects.

IFC building models now render as 2D floor plans, one per storey, that you can measure directly. This landed with reliable handling of real-world files, automatic calibration, and support for larger files.

  • Spreadsheets (.csv, .xlsx, .xls) open as interactive tables with rich cell formatting, search, three-state sorting and resizable columns.
  • Word documents (.docx) render as formatted previews.
  • Export monitoring, session, job and inspection data tables to CSV.

For organisations with Presentations enabled:

  • Slides can carry hotspot links to files in your project, turning a presentation into a clickable dashboard.
  • New button styling controls: opacity, borders, width, colour and style.

A new in-app tutorials and onboarding hints system to help you find your way around.

  • Double-click a file to open it straight into the right viewer, with a 2D Preview button added to the 3D viewer.
  • Group projects into named categories and create reusable folder templates.
  • Assign chainage along a centreline, sorted with snap-to-line.
  • See your own live location on the project map, with a more accurate location dot.
  • Faster, flicker-free grouped project lists.
  • A batch of fixes: map address fields, reverse-geocoding a dropped pin, folder-tree refresh after deletion, always-visible file checkboxes, and a friendlier message when you request access to a project twice.

Resilient uploads, centrelines, and project archiving link

Large uploads now keep going through laptop sleep and tab switches, and can be resumed after a page refresh, re-sending only the pieces that didn't make it.

Draw a centreline (road, pipe or rail) and assign chainage to pins along it, with distance from the start and left/right offset worked out automatically.

For organisations with Presentations enabled:

  • Add files to a presentation directly from within Vismo.
  • Font and image sizes are constrained for a consistent, tidy layout.
  • Slide links continue to gain thumbnail previews.

  • Archive a project to tidy your active list while keeping all of its data.
  • Search existing organisation members by name or email when sharing a project.
  • Folders show file counts, and files and folders can be sorted by name, date or size.
  • Enhanced zoom on the image viewer.
  • The Activity panel was removed from the File Manager to declutter the view.
  • People are emailed when they auto-join a project.
  • Improved boundary colours, and a fix for blank map tiles at extreme zoom.

Presentation tools, a 2D CAD viewer, and What3Words link

For organisations with Presentations enabled, a new builder lets you assemble visual summaries from your project's assets. Presentations are tied to a project and appear as cards on the project dashboard, and slide links show a thumbnail preview of what they point to. Speak to us if you would like access.

Open DWG and DXF drawings in a fast new 2D viewer: browse layouts, pan and zoom, and calibrate (including by a known scale ratio), all in the browser, with a link through to the 3D viewer. Measurement tools also work directly on DWG drawings in top-down view.

Project locations now show What3Words addresses across the map, files page, settings and headers, giving field teams a simple way to pinpoint a spot. The location picker shows the live address as you choose it, with an expandable full-viewport map.

  • Projects can now have multiple named, colour-coded boundaries instead of just one.
  • Each organisation can give a shared project its own alias name and project number.
  • Project transfer now lets you keep a copy, archive the original or hand it over cleanly, with clear provenance shown afterwards.
  • Project lists show content indicator chips and can be filtered by content, role and status, and folders show a file-count chip.

The project dashboard gained a full-width hero banner using your project image, with the description, comments, share and member avatars grouped into it.

  • A new plain-text and code file viewer covering dozens of formats.
  • Drag and drop files and folders straight into the explorer, with a folder-tree sidebar.

  • Vismo refreshes itself cleanly after a release and no longer shows a blank screen on mobile.
  • New organisations see a 30-day trial countdown with clear guidance when it ends.
  • A batch of What3Words display, map search, positioning and project-list loading fixes.

Trials for new organisations link

  • New organisations now start with a 30-day trial.

Richer measurements and project boundaries on the map link

  • Take angle, arc and multi-point measurements on PDF plans, alongside straight lines, with clearer labels and a summary card.
  • Calibrate using a known ratio or survey station.
  • Only a cursor hint shows while you're measuring, keeping the drawing clear.
  • Download the current page or the whole PDF from the viewer.
  • PDF links now open in the dedicated PDF viewer.

Draw a polygon boundary on a project's map to show its site extent.

  • The map view now loads only projects that have a location set.
  • Project dashboards can show summary counts of projects, files and users.
  • File lists now show how many comments each file has.
  • A fix for a blank screen that could appear on mobile after an update, plus faster loading and a tidier collapsible sidebar.

Measure on PDF plans link

Calibrate a PDF plan and take straight-line measurements directly on the page, without leaving your browser.

  • A cleaner project dashboard sidebar, with centred forms and tidier collapsed labels.
  • Location and address search combined into one smoother experience.
  • File explorer and image carousel usability and dark-mode fixes.
  • A more streamlined new-user onboarding flow.

A smoother sign-in link

  • Confirmation emails no longer expire before you get the chance to use them.
  • Signing in with an unconfirmed email now shows a clear message instead of a confusing "wrong password" error.

Pin PDF pages to the map link

  • Pin a PDF page to a location on the map, connecting plan documents to their real-world position.

Put your projects on the map link

Projects now have a location on an interactive map. Drop typed map pins, give them labels and descriptions, and browse them from a collapsible tray. Pins can carry a description and link to more than one board. Switch between street and satellite views, and see all of an organisation's located projects together in a single map view.

  • Viewers now show real names for people and organisations instead of internal identifiers.
  • A further fix to password reset so the email is sent correctly.

A mini-map for 360° walkthroughs link

  • The 360° walkthrough viewer now has a mini-map, so you can always tell where you are while exploring a capture.

Password reset emails fixed link

  • Password reset now sends the email it should, so you can get back into your account.

Smoother 360° navigation link

  • Smoother navigation around 360° panorama captures.
  • Fixed a bug where the app kept checking on a file conversion that had already failed, instead of stopping and reporting it.

Separate panels for announcements and ideas link

  • Announcements and ideas now each have their own icon and side panel, so they're easier to find and tell apart.
  • Revit-to-IFC conversion, available on request, is now more reliable.

More reliable updates link

  • Vismo updates now roll out more reliably.

More reliable Revit-to-IFC conversions link

Revit-to-IFC conversion is available on request. For organisations with it enabled, conversions now time out cleanly if they get stuck instead of hanging indefinitely. Speak to us if you would like access.
